Make your bathroom look and feel bigger
Making a small bathroom appear practical, tidy, and stylish can feel like a mammoth task, but here are our top tips to help you quickly and easily make a difference without breaking the bank:
- Declutter
You don’t need every toiletry out on display. As a rule of thumb, throw out any toiletries you’ve had for more than a year. Put away anything you use less than once a week. Keep towels, cleaning products and extra loo rolls to a minimum, and store the spares somewhere outside of the bathroom.
- Store it
Storage furniture won’t fit in a small bathroom, so maximise your wall space to help keep things off the sink and floor. If your current cabinet is too narrow, look into a deeper one to help you keep your essentials close at hand
- Be colourful
Just because your bathroom is small, doesn’t mean it has to be all white. Bright colourful accessories, or a stylish shower curtain can help draw the eye around the room.
- Go easy on accessories
Resist the urge to decorate with pot pourri bowls, flowers and ornaments. It’s more to clean and takes up more space!
- Mirror mirror
Mirrors reflect light around the room and create the illusion of space, so don’t be shy to go big in a small room!
