Follow these top tips for staging your home by highlighting its strengths, downplaying any weaknesses and appeal to a large pool of prospective buyers.

1. Get rid of clutter
   One of the most important things you can do when preparing your home for sale is to get rid of clutter. This can include furniture – professional stagers often take away half the furniture resulting in the room appearing much bigger. Take a look around and ask yourself what you can live without.
2. Use all of your space
   Many of us have a room that serves only to gather junk – repurpose it into something and it will add value to your home. The simple addition of a chair, table and lamp in a stairwell nook can transform it into a cosy reading spot.
3. Group in 3’s
   When it comes to accessorising – odd numbers are preferable, especially three. Rather than lining up a trio of accessories in a straight line – imagine a triangle and place an object at each point. The largest item should be at the back with the smallest in front.
